What is Young Buck's Net Worth?

Young Buck, an American rapper and producer, has a net worth of $100,000. Known for his contributions to hip-hop groups UTP Playas and G-Unit (alongside rapper 50 Cent), he made a significant impact in the 2000s. After various conflicts within G-Unit, 50 Cent officially dismissed Young Buck from the group in 2008. His debut solo album on G-Unit Records, "Straight Outta Cashville," was released in 2004, topping multiple charts. He followed this with his 2007 album, "Buck the World," which also achieved impressive rankings. In 2014, Young Buck rejoined G-Unit and participated in the EPs "The Beauty of Independence" (2014) and "The Beast Is G-Unit" (2015). In 2005, he launched his own record label, G-Unit South, later rebranding it as Cashville Records in 2007.

Early Life

Born David Darnell Brown on March 15, 1981, in Nashville, Tennessee, Young Buck is the son of Audrey Horn and James Brown. He began rapping at the age of 12 and soon caught the attention of Brian "Baby" Williams, co-founder of Cash Money Records. Signing with Cash Money in 1995, he later moved to UTP Records, where he met 50 Cent and subsequently joined G-Unit Records. One of his earliest appearances was on Three 6 Mafia's song "Memphis," featured on their 2000 album "When the Smoke Clears: Sixty 6, Sixty 1."

Career

Young Buck's career took off after signing with Cash Money. Although he didn't appear on an official Cash Money album, he toured with Birdman. After five years, he left Cash Money and joined UTP Records, founded by Juvenile. He collaborated with UTP Playas to release "The Compilation" in 2002 and his solo project "Born to Be a Thug" the same year. In 2003, he joined G-Unit, and their debut studio album "Beg for Mercy" reached #2 on the "Billboard" 200 chart, achieving 2x Platinum status. His solo album "Straight Outta Cashville" went Platinum in 2004, featuring hits like "Let Me In" (featuring 50 Cent), "Shorty Wanna Ride," and "Look at Me Now" (featuring Mr. Porter). His subsequent works included the 2007 album "Buck the World" and the 2008 G-Unit album "T·O·S (Terminate on Sight)."

In early 2008, 50 Cent announced that Young Buck was no longer part of G-Unit due to "inconsistent behavior." This was followed by the release of an emotional phone call where Young Buck pleaded to return. He also released diss tracks targeting 50 Cent and G-Unit. Due to ongoing contract disputes, Young Buck couldn't release new music until 2012, when he finally exited G-Unit Records. Reuniting with G-Unit in 2014, he contributed to the EPs "The Beauty of Independence" and "The Beast Is G-Unit," both of which peaked on the Top Rap Albums chart. He kept his momentum going with mixtapes like "Before The Beast" (2015), "Compulsive" (2019), and "Vaccine" (2021).

Personal Life

Young Buck married Tanee McCall in 2002 and is a father to daughters Jada and Jayla and son David Jr. His life has been marked by several violent incidents, including a 2000 home invasion where he was shot multiple times, necessitating a blood transfusion. In 2012, his SUV was targeted in a drive-by, sustaining multiple gunshot hits. Legally, he faced numerous charges, including a 2004 stabbing incident at the VIBE Awards and firearm possession in 2005. In 2016, he was arrested for threatening his ex-girlfriend, which led to a seven-month prison sentence for repeated violations of parole conditions.

Young Buck's financial struggles surfaced in August 2010 when he declared Chapter 13 bankruptcy. The IRS planned to auction his property, but a legal suit halted it temporarily. Despite initial plans to sue 50 Cent over a record contract dispute, his revised bankruptcy petition omitted these claims. In July 2012, the IRS auctioned his assets for approximately $53,000, insufficient to cover his debts. Legal complications continued when authorities discovered firearms in his home, resulting in an 18-month prison sentence beginning in August 2012 on weapon charges.
