Career
In 1978, Bregman debuted in the TV film "Three on a Date" and soon landed a role in the NBC soap opera "Days of Our Lives" as Donna Temple Craig. She won a Young Artist Award in 1979 for her performance. Bregman transitioned to the big screen with the slasher film "Happy Birthday to Me" and the prison drama "The Concrete Jungle." She also appeared in "The Funny Farm," "The Littlest Hobo," "The Love Boat," "Fame," and "The Fall Guy."
In 1983, Bregman took on the defining role of Lauren Fenmore in "The Young and the Restless." Her initial six-month stint turned into a long-term contract. Renowned for her compelling portrayal, she won the first Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series in 1985.
