Her father, Peyton Huddleston Bray, Jr., had a brief marriage to Gloria Allred while they were both in college. He struggled with bipolar disorder and tragically took his own life. Bloom was raised by her mother, taking her maiden name, and Gloria later remarried William C. Allred when Lisa was seven.

Bloom excelled academically, graduating from UCLA with a bachelor's degree and obtaining her J.D. from Yale Law School in 1986.

Career

Bloom launched her legal career in New York and later joined her mother's law firm, Allred, Maroko & Goldberg. There, she handled cases against organizations like the Boy Scouts of America, the Roman Catholic Church, and the Los Angeles Police Department.
