Dan graduated from Riverdale Country School in 1984 and earned a B.A. in political science from Duke University in 1988. He was an active student, anchoring newscasts on Cable 13 and serving as student body vice president. Dan later obtained his law degree from Columbia Law School.
Career
Abrams began his media career as a Court TV reporter in May 1994, covering significant stories like the O.J. Simpson case and Dr. Kevorkian's assisted suicide trials. He left the role in 1997 to join NBC News as a general assignment correspondent, eventually becoming Chief Legal Correspondent. In 2001, he started hosting "The Abrams Report" on MSNBC and later became General Manager of MSNBC from 2006 to 2007.
Moving beyond his managerial role, Dan focused on his shows, "Live with Dan Abrams" and "Verdict with Dan Abrams," until 2008. He later contributed to NBC News, substituting as an anchor on the "Today" show. In March 2011, Dan joined ABC News as Chief Legal Analyst and substitute anchor on "Good Morning America." By June 2013, he was named Chief Legal Affairs Anchor for ABC, also anchoring "Nightline" until 2014.
