Early Life

Christopher Charles Cuomo was born on August 9, 1970, in Queens, New York. He is the son of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo and Matilda Raffa Cuomo. His grandparents, Andrea and Immacolata Cuomo, emigrated from Italy in the 1920s. Chris's brother, Andrew Cuomo, served as New York Governor from 2011 to 2021. His sister, Maria Cuomo Cole, is a film producer and is married to fashion designer Kenneth Cole. His other sister, Margaret, is a doctor. Chris Cuomo attended The Albany Academy, Yale University for his Bachelor's degree, and Fordham University for his J.D. He has been a licensed attorney since 1995.

Career

Chris Cuomo's career began with appearances on CNBC, CNN, and MSNBC. He was a correspondent for Fox Files and served as a political policy analyst for Fox News. At ABC, he did a year-long assignment on heroin addiction for 20/20 and covered legal issues, the Haiti earthquake, and more. His reports led to significant changes, such as the recall of over 150,000 BMWs. From 2006 to 2009, he was the news anchor for Good Morning America, covering global breaking news, including war zones and natural disasters. In February 2013, he joined CNN, co-hosting the morning show before moving to primetime with Cuomo Prime Time in March 2018.
