Early Life

Jonathan Cheban was born on February 21, 1974, in Moldova, Soviet Union. As an only child to a diamond dealer father and a real estate agent mother, his family moved to the United States during his childhood. Cheban grew up in Fort Lee, New Jersey, graduated from Fort Lee High School in 1991, and earned a degree in Communications from Hofstra University in 1995.

Career

After graduating, Cheban began working at Peggy Siegal's public relations firm in New York City. He later collaborated with Benny Medina to organize Sean Combs' 29th birthday, eventually forming his own P.R. firm. In 2001, he started CommandPR, which hosted events for celebrity clients like JLo and Janet Jackson.

Cheban first appeared on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" in an episode where Kim Kardashian tested his sexuality. He has also appeared on other Kardashian spin-offs and had his own reality series, "The Spin Crowd," which was canceled after one season. In 2013, he was featured as a single man on Bravo's "Millionaire Matchmaker" and briefly on "Celebrity Big Brother." Although he was slated to join the cast in 2017, he pulled out after demanding a substantial appearance fee. Cheban has also launched several entrepreneurial ventures, including the opening of Sushi MiKasa and Burger Bandit, a podcast called "Foodgod: OMFG," and The Dissh website.

Personal Life

In 2012, Cheban dated stylist Anat Popovsky after meeting her during the filming of "Kourtney and Kim Take Miami." He once worked at "The Late Show with David Letterman." He claims to have a sensitive palate that makes him enjoy food immensely, a trait he says makes food taste better to him than others.

Cheban met Kim Kardashian at a mutual acquaintance's birthday party. He once considered starting a school for privileged children in Trump Tower, though the plan was never realized. Instead of traditional workouts, Cheban opts for a machine at a dermatologist's office in New York City. Known for his extravagant tastes, he once consumed a giant pizza topped with cheeseburgers, a moment captured on his Instagram.

Having officially renamed himself to foodgod, Cheban insists on being called by this moniker. However, during the summer of 2020, he faced a harrowing experience when he was robbed at gunpoint in New Jersey, losing a $250,000 designer watch in the process.
