Boosie Badazz, also known as Lil Boosie, is an accomplished American rapper who boasts a net worth of $2 million. He began his music career as a member of the group Concentration Camp before pursuing a successful solo career. Boosie is well-known for hit singles like Zoom (featuring Yung Joc), Wipe Me Down (featuring Foxx and Webbie), Better Believe It (featuring Webbie and Young Jeezy), and Show Da World (with Webbie featuring Kiara). His feature on Independent (featuring Lil Phat) reached number one on the US Rap chart.
Born Torrence Hatch on November 2, 1982, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Boosie was raised in a dangerous neighborhood where even local police rarely ventured. He tragically lost his father to murder and began rapping at the tender age of 14 as a way to cope with the violence and instability that surrounded him.
Boosie Badazz's debut album, Youngest Of Da Camp, released in 2000, reached #96 on the Billboard R&B charts. His follow-up album, For My Thugz, came out in 2002, and in 2006, he hit number one on the Billboard rap charts with Bad Azz.
In 2008, he founded his own label, Bad Azz Entertainment. Despite being incarcerated on drug charges, Boosie released his fourth album, Incarcerated, from jail and even earned his GED. Upon his early release in March 2014, he rebranded himself as Boosie Badazz and released Touch Down 2 Cause Hell in 2015, which soared to #2 on the US Rap and US R&B charts, and #3 on the Billboard 200 chart. He continued his musical journey with multiple albums including BooPac (2017), Boosie Blues Cafe (2018), Badazz 3.5 (2019), and several others. In 2023, Boosie released First Day Back, Best Album of 2023, and Goin Thru Some Thangs. His latest single, Ungrateful, directed criticism towards his daughter and her mother.

Boosie is the father of eight children with six different women, including three children with his longtime girlfriend, Walnita Decuir. In 2010, Walnita was arrested for attempting to smuggle narcotics to Boosie in jail.
In December 2020, Boosie announced his intention to sue Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg for $20 million after being banned from Instagram, which he claimed cost him numerous business opportunities. During an interview with VladTV, Boosie stated that his ban from the social media platform potentially resulted in $20 million in lost earnings.
On November 14, 2020, Boosie was shot in the leg while attending a vigil for rapper MO3 in Dallas. Though initial reports suggested the possibility of amputation, Boosie later confirmed that he was recovering at home without amputation.
Boosie's legal issues include numerous arrests and imprisonment stints. In 2010, he faced first-degree murder charges and was accused of drug distribution. Though he was found not guilty of murder, he was convicted on the drug charges and sentenced to eight years in state prison. His early release in 2014 came after his lawyers argued that he was set up by informants. He remained on parole until 2018. In July 2022, Boosie was detained and cited for marijuana possession during a traffic stop.
Boosie has been embroiled in several controversies over the years. In February 2020, he faced backlash for making derogatory comments about Dwyane Wade's transgender daughter. In May 2020, he posted (and later deleted) an Instagram video boasting about hiring an adult woman to perform a sex act on his underage nephew. In October 2021, Boosie again courted controversy with an anti-gay rant directed at Lil Nas X on Twitter, which encouraged him to take his own life. The tweet was subsequently removed by Twitter.
