Adam Arkin began his acting journey while still in high school, debuting in the film "The Monitors" in 1969 and the short film "People Soup." By 1971, he appeared in "Made for Each Other" and continued to feature in several TV films during the mid-1970s, such as "Moe and Joe," "It Couldn't Happen to a Nicer Guy," and "All Together Now."

At age 19, after completing high school, Arkin guest-starred on "Happy Days" and "Barney Miller" in 1975. His first major television role came in 1977 as Lenny Markowitz in "Busting Loose," where he appeared in 21 episodes.
