What is Creed Bratton's Net Worth?

Creed Bratton, an American actor, musician, and songwriter, boasts a net worth of $3 million. He is best known for portraying a fictionalized version of himself on NBC's 'The Office' (2005-2013) and being a member of the band The Grass Roots in the '60s. Bratton has enriched the music scene with four albums with The Grass Roots and nine as a solo artist. His filmography includes over 50 acting credits, such as 'The Guilt Trip' (2012), 'The Sisters Brothers' (2018), 'Funny or Die Presents' (2010), and 'Liz & Dick' (2012). He also lent his voice to video games like 'World Gone Sour' (2011) and 'Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War' (2020).

Early Life

Born William Charles Schneider on February 8, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, Creed grew up in Coarsegold, California. His musical roots trace back to his parents, William and Cozzette, and his grandparents. Tragically, when Creed was just 2, his father, stationed in Hawaii, lost his life in a plane explosion. Struggling with anxiety and a stutter during childhood, a school counselor suggested acting to help him overcome his fears. At 13, Creed purchased his first guitar, marking the beginning of his career as a professional musician. After high school, he studied drama at the College of the Sequoias and Sacramento State College and began using the name Creed Bratton while traveling worldwide as a musician.

Music Career

Creed Bratton's music journey took him across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Guitarist Warren Entner discovered him at an Israeli music festival in 1966, leading to the formation of The 13th Floor band. The lineup included Bratton on lead guitar, Entner on rhythm guitar, Rick Coonce on drums, and Kenny Fukomoto on bass. They sent a demo tape to Dunhill Records, which offered them a contract. After recruiting Rob Grill to replace Fukomoto, the band adopted the name The Grass Roots and scored a Top 10 hit with 'Let's Live for Today' in 1967. Bratton's tenure with the band saw contributions to albums like 'Let's Live for Today' (1967), 'Feelings' (1968), 'Golden Grass' (1968), and 'Lovin' Things' (1969). He co-wrote hits such as 'House of Stone,' 'Dinner for Eight,' and 'Beatin' Round the Bush.'

Creed's dissatisfaction with Dunhill's restrictions led to his departure from The Grass Roots in 1969. He felt sidelined by the use of studio musicians instead of band members. Post-band, Bratton pursued a solo career, releasing albums like 'Chasin' The Ball' (2001), 'The 80's' (2001), and 'Coarsegold' (2002). During his time on 'The Office,' he released three more solo albums: 'Creed Bratton' (2008), 'Bounce Back' (2010), and 'Demo' (2011). He performed at the SXSW festival in 2010 and 2012 and released a three-act audio biography, 'Tell Me About It,' in 2013. Bratton's more recent work includes the albums 'While The Young Punks Dance' (2018) and 'Slightly Altered' (2020).
