What is YoungBoy Never Broke Again's Net Worth?
YoungBoy Never Broke Again, also known as NBA YoungBoy, is a celebrated rapper and songwriter with a net worth of $10 million. He gained initial fame between 2015 and 2017 by releasing six independent mixtapes. His profile rose dramatically with the single Outside Today from his debut album, Until Death Call My Name. His popularity continued to grow with the success of the 2019 single Bandit and the chart-topping album Al YoungBoy 2.
Early Life and Career Beginnings
Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, known professionally as YoungBoy Never Broke Again, was born in 1999 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was raised primarily by his maternal grandmother after his father received a 55-year prison sentence. As a toddler, Gaulden suffered a neck injury that resulted in him wearing a head brace, leaving scars on his forehead. He dropped out of high school and was arrested for robbery, spending time in a detention center where he began writing lyrics. After his release and the passing of his grandmother, he moved in with his friend and fellow rapper NBA 3Three. The pair engaged in criminal activities to fund their studio time.
In 2015, Gaulden released his first mixtape, Life Before Fame. He followed it with a series of other mixtapes including Mind of a Menace, Before I Go, and 38 Baby, the latter featuring rappers Stroke Tha Don and Boosie Badazz. Gaulden garnered significant attention for his public feud with rapper Scotty Cain, as well as his arrest on charges of attempted first-degree murder in Austin, Texas.
"Al YoungBoy," "Until Death Call My Name," and More Mixtapes
Gaulden released the video for his single 41 and followed it with the mixtape Al YoungBoy in August 2017, reaching number 24 on the Billboard 200. The singles Untouchable and No Smoke were notable successes. In 2018, his single Outside Today reached number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. He released his debut studio album, Until Death Call My Name, which peaked at number seven on the Billboard 200.
In the same year, Gaulden released another mixtape, Master the Day of Judgement, followed by a series of four EPs. He then released two more mixtapes, Decided and Realer. By January 2019, he was listed as one of YouTube's Top Music Artists due to his frequent exclusive releases on the platform.

Further Hit Singles and Albums
After a 14-month house arrest, Gaulden made a strong return in October 2019 with the single Bandit, featuring rapper Juice Wrld. The song peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming his highest-charting single to date. Shortly thereafter, he released the mixtape Al YoungBoy 2, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and saw tremendous streaming figures.
Gaulden continued his momentum with the mixtapes Still Flexin, Still Steppin and 38 Baby 2, the latter becoming his second album to debut atop the Billboard 200 in April 2020. He followed these with the album Top, which included the Hot 100-charting singles Kacey Talk, All In, and My Window. Additionally, Gaulden released the mixtape Until I Return, initially available exclusively on YouTube.
Recent works include Sincerely, Kentrell (2021), The Last Slimeto (2022), and three albums in 2023: I Rest My Case, Don't Try This At Home, and Richest Opp.
Criminal Activity
Gaulden has been frequently involved in criminal activity, starting with a 2016 arrest for firing on pedestrians. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a firearm and received a 10-year suspended prison sentence and three years of active probation. In early 2018, he was arrested for assault, kidnapping, and weapons violations but was released on bail shortly after.
In 2019, while on probation, Gaulden was involved in a shooting incident but was found to have violated his probation by associating with certain individuals, resulting in 90 days in jail and 14 months of house arrest. He faced further legal issues in September 2020 with multiple charges related to drugs and firearms, and was arrested again in 2021 on a federal warrant. After an attempt to evade arrest, Gaulden was acquitted of federal firearms charges in July 2022. In March 2023, house arrest restrictions were eased, allowing more freedom.
Personal Life
Gaulden fathers eleven children with nine different women. Two of his sons, Kacey and Kayden, appeared in the music video for his single Kacey Talk. In January 2023, he married Jazlyn Mychelle Hayes, the mother of two of his children.
Gaulden has expressed a desire to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints once his ankle monitor is removed.
Real Estate
When Gaulden moved to Utah, he resided in a $5.2 million home in Salt Lake City. Initially, it was uncertain if he had purchased or rented the property. Eventually, it was confirmed that he bought the house in 2022. In March 2024, the home was listed for sale for $5.9 million. Here is a video tour:
