Vanessa Madeline Angel was born on November 10, 1966, in London, England, to parents Peter and Elizabeth Angel. Her father was a stockbroker. Angel was discovered by a model management agent while she was in a London cafe as a teenager. She subsequently signed with Ford Models and moved to New York City. As a model, Angel graced the covers of top magazines such as "Cosmopolitan" and "Vogue" and became famously known as the Diet Pepsi Girl due to her contract with the brand.
Career
Vanessa Angel made her film debut in 1985 with "Spies Like Us," directed by John Landis and starring Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd. She later guest-starred on popular TV series such as "The Equalizer" (1988), "Baywatch" (1991), "On the Air" (1992), "Raven" (1992), "Melrose Place" (1993), "Murder, She Wrote" (1993), "Time Trax" (1994), and "Veronica's Closet" (1997). In the early 1990s, she appeared in the 1992 miniseries "Lady Boss" and the 1993 TV movie "The Cover Girl Murders."
From 1992 to 1993, Angel had a recurring role as Det. Peggy Elliott on the NBC police drama "Reasonable Doubts." Her most iconic role came from 1994 to 1998 when she starred as Lisa on the USA Network series "Weird Science," which aired 88 episodes over five seasons.
