Traci Renee Braxton was born on April 2nd, 1971, in Severn, Maryland. Her upbringing was deeply influenced by religion, as her father was a clergyman and her mother, a pastor and former opera singer. Raised alongside her four sisters and brother, Traci's initial foray into music occurred in the church choir.

Early Music Career
Traci, along with her sisters, formed The Braxtons and signed a record deal in 1989. Their debut single, "Good Life," was released the following year but failed to achieve commercial success. Consequently, the group was dropped from their label. However, record producers recognized Toni Braxton's potential for a solo career, which led to the reformation of The Braxtons as her backup singers during her U.S. tour.
In an unfortunate turn, Traci's musical career was halted in 1995 due to her pregnancy, which prevented her from signing a new record deal. This led her to transition temporarily into youth counseling.

TV Career
Traci returned to the public eye with a recurring role in the reality TV series Braxton Family Values, which premiered in 2011 and became a top-rated show on We TV. Leveraging her reality TV popularity, Traci pursued acting and appeared in films including Sinners Wanted and All In.
Return To Music
The success of Braxton Family Values reignited Traci's musical aspirations. She signed with a record label in 2013, and her debut solo album, Crash & Burn, was released in 2014. The album received positive reviews, with the lead single, "Last Call," ranking at number 16 on the US R&B Adult charts. The album itself reached number 11 on the R&B charts.
In 2015, The Braxtons released their second album, Braxton Family Christmas, marking Traci's full return to the group since her departure due to pregnancy in the 1990s.
