Early Life
Born Samantha Anne Bee on October 25, 1969, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to Ronald and Debra who divorced soon after her birth, Samantha was raised mainly by her grandmother, a secretary at a Catholic school. She attended Humberside Collegiate Institute and York Memorial Collegiate Institute, then briefly studied humanities at McGill University. After transferring to the University of Ottawa, she discovered her passion for performing in a theatre class. Bee further honed her craft at Toronto's George Brown Theatre School.
Career
Bee kicked off her career by playing the title role in a touring stage production of "Sailor Moon" at age 26. She also co-founded The Atomic Fireballs, a Toronto sketch comedy troupe. Samantha's TV debut came in a 2000 episode of "Real Kids, Real Adventures," followed by roles in TV movies like "Ham I Am" (2001) and "Jasper, Texas" (2003).
