Youth Career

At seven years old, Čech began his football journey with the local club Škoda Plzeň. He spent a decade there before making his senior debut in 1999.

Chmel Blšany, Sparta Prague, and Rennes

Čech joined the Czech First League club Chmel Blšany in mid-1999, and in 2001, moved to Sparta Prague. He set a league record for the longest time without conceding a goal at 903 minutes. In 2002, Čech joined the French Ligue 1 club Rennes, playing until 2004.

Chelsea

In 2004, Čech joined Chelsea in the English Premier League. He became an instant success, setting a Premier League record of 1,025 minutes without conceding a goal in March 2005, and helping Chelsea clinch the Premier League title. He also earned his first Premier League Golden Glove with a record 24 clean sheets that season. Despite a near-fatal head injury in 2006, Čech continued his impressive performance, winning multiple titles, including Chelsea's first Champions League title in 2012 and three Premier League Golden Gloves.

Arsenal

Čech signed with Arsenal in mid-2015, promptly winning the FA Community Shield against his former team Chelsea. He achieved his fourth Premier League Golden Glove in the 2015-16 season. Despite some setbacks, including an injury, Čech helped Arsenal win an FA Cup and another FA Community Shield. He retired in early 2019, making his final appearance in the UEFA Europa League final against Chelsea.
