The Facts of Life

In the late 70s, while researching for the upcoming sitcom 'The Facts of Life,' actress Charlotte Rae discovered Cohn at Westlake School. Cohn landed the part of Natalie Green, a student at a private all-girls school in New York. Rae played the housemother, while other primary roles were taken by Lisa Whelchel, Kim Fields, and Nancy McKeon. 'The Facts of Life' was hugely popular, running for nine seasons from 1979 to 1988 and spawning three television films.

Further Television Career

As 'The Facts of Life' neared its end, Cohn guest-starred on '21 Jump Street' and 'Charles in Charge.' In 1993, she took on the main role of Maureen Tucker on 'The Second Half,' which was canceled after one season. She returned to acting in 1999 with 'Suddenly Susan' and ventured into voice-acting with 'The Kids from Room 402.' More notable roles include 'The Help' in 2004, 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' in 2012, and appearances in 'The Middle,' 'Bones,' and holiday films like 'A Cinderella Christmas.'

Scooby Doo

From 2002 to 2015, Mindy voiced Velma Dinkley in various 'Scooby Doo' projects. She started with 'What's New, Scooby-Doo?' and continued with 'Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated' as well as multiple movies and video games.

Cohn debuted in the 1986 fantasy drama 'The Boy Who Could Fly.' She returned to films in 2001 with 'Alone with a Stranger' and later appeared in 'Under the Gun' and 'Swing.' Most of her film work since 2004 has been in 'Scooby-Doo' direct-to-video releases, with her final franchise film being 'Scooby-Doo! and Kiss: Rock and Roll Mystery' in 2015.

Outside of 'Scooby-Doo,' she starred in the 2007 sci-fi comedy 'Sex and Death 101,' the romantic comedy 'Violet Tendencies,' 'You're Killing Me,' 'Hollywood Dirt,' and 'A Nice Girl Like You.'
