At eight, Miley’s family moved to Toronto where her father filmed the series "Doc." Inspired by a performance of "Mamma Mia!" she knew she wanted to pursue acting. She began lessons at the Armstrong Acting Studio in Toronto.

Her popular singles include "The Climb," "Party in the U.S.A.," "We Can't Stop," and "Wrecking Ball."

Her Malibu home, shared with Hemsworth, was destroyed in the 2018 Woolsey Fire. Miley sold another Malibu property to Matthew Wilder in 2020 for $1.7 million, a loss from her 2016 purchase price of $2.5 million.
In 2015, she bought an equestrian ranch in Hidden Hills for $5 million and sold it in 2018. In 2020, she purchased another Hidden Hills home for $5 million and sold it in 2021 for $7.2 million.
