He continued his stand-up journey with appearances on "An Evening at the Improv" and "One Night Stand" in the early 90s. From 1992 to 1994, Curry hosted "It's Showtime at the Apollo" and gained fame playing NBA player-turned-gym teacher Mark Cooper on "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper." The sitcom featured co-stars Holly Robinson Peete, Dawnn Lewis, Nell Carter, and Omar Gooding. The show concluded in 1997 after five seasons. During this time, Curry also made guest appearances on "Living Single" and "Martin" and performed a stand-up special on "Comedy Central Presents."

In the early 2000s, Curry played Robert Soulard on "The Drew Carey Show" and appeared on "For Your Love." He starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie "The Poof Point" and hosted the Comedy Central game show "Don't Forget Your Toothbrush." Curry continued to make game show and variety show appearances. From 2002 to 2003, he was a recurring guest on "Pyramid," and he hosted the variety show "Animal Tails" from 2003 to 2004. Burn Injuries
