Macaulay Carson Culkin was born on August 26, 1980, in Manhattan, New York City. His father, Christopher Culkin, is a former Broadway actor, while his mother, Patricia Brentrup, worked in different roles. Macaulay was named after British historian and politician Thomas Babington Macaulay. He is one of seven children, with several siblings who also pursued acting. Culkin attended a Catholic school, St. Joseph's School of Yorkville, followed by the Professional Children's School.

Career

Culkin began his career at the young age of four, appearing in small theatre productions, TV movies, and minor film roles. His breakout role came in 1990 with "Home Alone," where he played the iconic Kevin McCallister. For this role, he received a Golden Globe nomination and won both an American Comedy Award and a Young Artist Award. He continued his success with other notable roles in films such as "My Girl," "The Good Son," and "Richie Rich."
