Both years, his team clinched the Golden Valley Conference title with a 10-1 record, and Allen was named J.C. All-American in his sophomore year.
After Butte College, Allen took a gap year before joining Sonoma State University, a Division II football school. In his final two years of college football, he distinguished himself, earning spots in the East-West Shrine Game and the Senior Bowl.

Professional Career
In 1994, Larry Allen was the first player drafted from Sonoma State, selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round. He made an immediate impact, becoming the highest-picked offensive lineman for the Cowboys since 1981. His twelve seasons with the Cowboys were marked by significant achievements, including a Super Bowl XXX victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He set team records, earned all-rookie honors, and participated in seven consecutive Pro Bowls after becoming a starter just four games into his rookie season.
Allen spent his final two NFL seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, switching his jersey number from 73 to 71. Despite the change, his performance remained stellar, and he was voted to his eleventh Pro Bowl in his first year with the 49ers.
