What Is Julie Chrisley's Net Worth?

Julie Chrisley, an American reality television personality, has a net worth of -$18 million. Julie and her husband, Todd Chrisley, were convicted of a massive tax and fraud scheme, resulting in their order to pay $17 million in restitution to swindled banks.

Julie Chrisley shot to fame with the reality series "Chrisley Knows Best," which aired on the USA Network from 2014 to 2023. The show, which featured Julie, Todd, and their five children, gained additional notoriety in 2022 when Julie and Todd were convicted of tax and fraud charges. On November 21, 2022, Julie was sentenced to seven years in prison, while Todd received a 12-year sentence.

Early Life

Personal Life and Career

Julie's life trajectory changed dramatically after starting a relationship with Todd Chrisley, a successful real estate broker, in the early 1990s. Todd, who was then married with two children, eventually married Julie in 1996, and they had three children together. Todd gained a reputation for being a control freak and a germaphobe.

Despite Todd's real estate success, he later faced significant financial problems, leading to bankruptcy with debts as high as $49 million. Julie, a breast cancer survivor, acknowledges this life-changing experience has made her cherish life more and worry less about trivial matters. Julie also hosted "What's Cooking with Julie Chrisley" on the USA Network.

"Chrisley Knows Best" debuted in 2014 and showcased the Chrisley family's lavish lifestyle. The series, initially set in Georgia, later moved to Nashville, Tennessee. The spin-off "Growing Up Chrisley" focused on their children, Chase and Savannah Chrisley, and aired in April 2019 but was canceled after the couple's convictions.

In 2016, "Chrisley Knows Best" was nominated for a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Unstructured Reality Show. Julie has also appeared on shows like "The View," "Today," "Steve Harvey", and "Hollywood Medium."

Family

Julie and Todd have a blended family with five children. Todd's oldest daughter, Lindsie Chrisley Campbell, with ex-wife Teresa, has had a strained relationship with Todd but reconciled in 2016. Lindsie distanced herself from the Chrisley family, citing threats and harassment.

Kyle Chrisley, Todd's oldest son with Teresa, struggled with addiction and bipolar disorder. After a relapse, he has been sober since 2019. Kyle's daughter, Chloe, appears on the show and is raised by her grandparents.

Chase Chrisley is often shown chasing ventures to get rich quickly, while Savannah, a former beauty pageant competitor who won Miss Tennessee Teen USA in 2016, founded SASSY, a cosmetics company.

Todd's mother, "Nanny" Faye Chrisley, also features in the show. Known for her love of gambling and drinking, she often clashes with Todd's attempts to protect her from trouble.

August 2019 Arrest

On August 14, 2019, Todd and Julie Chrisley were arrested on multiple charges, including tax evasion, wire fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy. From 2007 to 2012, they allegedly used Chrisley Asset Management to secure fraudulent loans, providing false information to inflate their net worth. The indictment claimed they fabricated documents, including a false financial statement showing over $776,000 at Merrill Lynch, despite not having such assets.

The couple allegedly evaded federal tax bills, with their accountant also indicted. Todd and Julie claimed the crimes were committed by a former "trusted employee" without their knowledge. They faced additional charges in February 2022, including using a production company to hide $2 million in unpaid taxes owed to the IRS.

Their criminal trial began in May 2022.

Real Estate

In 2016, the Chrisleys purchased a Nashville home for $1.6 million. In June 2019, they bought another property for $3.4 million, but following their legal troubles, they listed it for sale two months later, initially asking for $4.7 million.
