Jozy Altidore is an American professional soccer player with a net worth of $16 million. He began his career in 2006 with MLS's New York Red Bulls and has since played for notable clubs like Spain's Villarreal, England's Hull City, and MLS's Toronto FC. Early Life

Josmer "Jozy" Altidore was born on November 6, 1989, in Livingston, New Jersey, and grew up in Boca Raton, Florida. He was the youngest of four children born to Haitian immigrant parents. Altidore started his soccer journey with various youth teams in the Boca Raton area.

New York Red Bulls

In the 2006 MLS SuperDraft, Altidore was selected 17th overall by the New York Red Bulls. He made his professional debut that summer, scoring his first professional goal in September to help the Red Bulls beat the Columbus Crew 1-0. The Red Bulls reached the postseason, with Altidore becoming the youngest-ever player to score in the MLS playoffs at nearly 17 years old.

European Clubs

In 2008, Altidore was transferred to Spanish La Liga club Villarreal for about $10 million—a record fee for an MLS player at that time. During his tenure from 2008 to 2011, he was loaned to several clubs. He joined the Spanish Segunda División club Xerez but never played due to surgery. He then moved to EPL's Hull City, scoring his only Premier League goal in a match against Manchester City. Later, he was loaned to Turkish club Bursaspor in 2011.

Following Bursaspor, Altidore signed with Dutch Eredivisie club AZ in 2011. He quickly made an impact, scoring twice in a UEFA Europa League qualifier. He led AZ in scoring with 22 goals that season and continued his form in 2012-13, with multiple hat-tricks and a winning goal in the 2013 KNVB Cup final. He then moved to Sunderland in the EPL but only stayed through 2014 due to poor performance.

Toronto FC

Altidore joined MLS's Toronto FC in early 2015. He quickly found success, helping the club to the Canadian Championship semifinals and MLS Cup Playoffs with 14 goals in 27 games. Despite a slow start in 2016, he helped Toronto secure the Canadian Championship and reach the MLS Cup Final, narrowly losing to Seattle Sounders. In 2017, with the addition of Victor Vázquez, Altidore led Toronto to another Canadian Championship and MLS Cup, earning MLS Cup MVP honors for his role in the final.

In 2018, Toronto reached the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals, but Altidore suffered an injury during the final. He marked his 100th appearance for the club later that year with a hat-trick against Vancouver Whitecaps. Although Toronto lost in the 2019 MLS Cup Final, Altidore continued to make significant contributions until his departure in 2021.

New England Revolution

Altidore joined the New England Revolution in early 2022 via free agency. However, his contract was bought out in mid-2023 after scoring just two goals in 27 league appearances.

International Career

Altidore has been a key player for the U.S. men's national soccer team, including appearances in the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship, 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He represented the U.S. in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, multiple CONCACAF Gold Cups, and the FIFA World Cups in 2010 and 2014, earning over 110 caps.

Personal Life

In 2019, Altidore got engaged to professional tennis player Sloane Stephens. The couple married on New Year's Day, 2022.
