Although Jillian auditioned for 'Saturday Night Live' in 2009, she did not join the cast but was invited back as a writer by Seth Meyers for the 35th season. She later returned to host the show in 2019.

Jillian's breakthrough role came in 2011 when she portrayed Jillian Belk on Comedy Central’s 'Workaholics.' Her performance caught the attention of director Paul Thomas Anderson, who cast her in minor roles in 'The Master' (2012) and 'Inherent Vice' (2014).

Bell's role as Mercedes in '22 Jump Street' (2014) led to even higher visibility, sharing the screen with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.
