Fred's career began as a drummer in bands such as Trenchmouth and included collaborations with artists like Wandering Lucy and Matthew Sweet. He transitioned to acting with the 1998 short film 'Guide to Music and South by Southwest,' marking his initial step into filmmaking. By 2002, he joined the cast of 'Saturday Night Live,' where he remained for 11 years, making a mark with impersonations of Barack Obama and Prince.
