Erwin Bach met Tina Turner at an airport in Germany in 1985, where she was restarting her career after an abusive marriage with Ike Turner. Despite her challenging past, Tina felt an instant emotional connection with Erwin, who had been sent to greet her by the record company. They began their relationship in 1986 and married in a private ceremony in July 2013.
Following their wedding, Tina Turner suffered a stroke and had to relearn how to walk. Later, she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2016. Erwin remained a pillar of support, and when Tina needed a kidney transplant due to failing kidneys, he donated one of his in April 2017. Tina credited Erwin's selflessness with saving her life and maintaining her health for several more years. Sadly, Tina Turner passed away on May 24, 2023, at the age of 83.
