What is Dez Bryant's Net Worth?
Desmond Bryant, a retired American football wide receiver, boasts a net worth of $16 million. His financial success is attributed to his substantial NFL career earnings of approximately $54 million.
Between 2010 and 2020, Dez Bryant played in the NFL, mainly with the Dallas Cowboys. During his tenure, he earned three Pro Bowl selections and was an All-Pro in 2014. He concluded his career with the Baltimore Ravens.
Contracts
In 2015, Dez signed a five-year, $70 million contract with the Cowboys, with $45 million guaranteed. This was a milestone contract for a wide receiver, albeit controversial due to doubts about his consistency. However, in both 2016 and 2017, Bryant delivered outstanding performances, helping the Cowboys secure two NFC East titles.
Bryant's career trajectory changed in 2018 after his release from the Cowboys. He briefly joined the New Orleans Saints but suffered an Achilles tendon injury that kept him off the field.
Early Life and High School
Born on November 4, 1988, in Galveston Island, Texas, Bryant's early life was challenging. His mother, only 15 at his birth, was arrested for dealing crack cocaine when he was eight. During his time at Lufkin High School, Bryant lived in eight different homes. Yet, it was at Lufkin where he discovered his talent for football, leading his team to a 14-1 record as a junior and achieving 1,207 yards and 21 touchdowns with 53 receptions in his senior year. Bryant excelled in track and field as well, ranking among Texas's top competitors in the triple jump.
Collegiate Career
Upon graduating high school, Bryant chose Oklahoma State University. During his freshman year with the Cowboys football team, he ranked second with 43 receptions, amassing 622 receiving yards and six touchdowns. The following season, he significantly improved, recording 87 receptions for 1,480 yards and 19 touchdowns, earning All-American honors. His collegiate career was cut short in 2009 when he was declared ineligible for most of the season due to an NCAA bylaw violation.
Dallas Cowboys
Bryant was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2010 NFL Draft. He impressed in his rookie season with 45 receptions for 561 yards and six touchdowns, and became the first Cowboys rookie since Kevin Williams in 1993 to record multiple punt return touchdowns in a single season. By 2011, his performance had improved with 63 receptions for 928 yards and nine touchdowns. The 2012 season saw even better stats with 92 receptions for 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns. In 2013, Bryant achieved career highs with 93 catches and 13 touchdowns, earning his first Pro Bowl selection. His most productive season came in 2014, with 88 receptions for 1,320 yards and an NFL-leading 16 touchdowns, resulting in a second Pro Bowl selection and another playoff appearance for the Cowboys.
A foot injury in the 2015 season sidelined Bryant for several weeks, and he finished the season with only 31 receptions for 401 yards and three touchdowns. He encountered more injuries in 2016, ending the season with 50 receptions for 796 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games, and making his third Pro Bowl as the Cowboys lost again in the Divisional Round. In his final season with the Cowboys in 2017, Bryant recorded 69 receptions for 838 yards and six touchdowns. He was released from the team in 2018 after eight seasons.

New Orleans Saints
In 2018, Bryant signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints. Unfortunately, an Achilles tendon tear during practice led to him being placed on injured reserve, preventing him from playing any games.
Baltimore Ravens
After sitting out the 2019 season to recover from his injury, Bryant joined the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad in 2020. He was promoted to the active roster in November but had a brief setback with COVID-19 in December. In Week 15, Bryant caught his first touchdown since 2017, finishing his season with six receptions for 47 yards and two touchdowns.
Legal Trouble
In 2011, Bryant faced a lawsuit for nonpayment of legal fees and jewelry he had purchased on credit as a student athlete. The case was settled in court. In 2016, Texas state senator Royce West sued him for allegedly damaging a rental home in DeSoto, Texas.
