Early Career

Crane earned his first writing credit on the 1987 CBS sitcom "Everything's Relative." In 1990, he co-created "Dream On," which spanned 120 episodes over six seasons. He also wrote for CBS's "Sunday Dinner" in 1991 and co-created "The Powers That Be" for NBC, which aired for two seasons starting in 1992. Other early creations include the 1993 sitcom "Family Album" and the TV film "Couples" (1994).

Friends

"Friends" premiered on NBC in September 1994 and became one of the most successful sitcoms ever, with 236 episodes over 10 seasons. The show ranked #21 on "TV Guide's" list of the "50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time," and its 2004 finale was watched by over 52 million viewers.

In 2004, Crane wrote and produced the special "Friends: The One Before the Last One – Ten Years of Friends." The main cast, including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, reunited for "Friends: The Reunion" in 2021.
