Cindy Crawford was born Cynthia Ann Crawford on February 20, 1966, in DeKalb, Illinois. She grew up with her mother Jennifer, a bank teller, her father Dan, an electrician, and her sisters Chris and Danielle. Tragically, she lost her brother Jeffrey to childhood leukemia when he was just three.
Cindy excelled academically, becoming the valedictorian of DeKalb High School in 1984. A local photo shoot and a picture by photographer Roger Legel ignited her modeling career.
