Cheryl Burke is an American dancer, model, and television host with a net worth of $3 million. She gained fame and fortune as a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars.

Early Life

Born on May 3, 1984, in San Mateo County, California, Cheryl Burke grew up with her parents, Stephen Burke and Sherri Bautista, her sister Nicole, and step-sister Mandy. She began training in ballet at age four but switched to ballroom dancing at age eleven, focusing on Latin dance styles. Burke attended Menlo-Atherton High School and graduated in 2002.

Career

Post-high school, Burke's dedication to dance secured her the titles of World Cup Professional Rising Star Latin Champion, San Francisco Latin Champion, and Ohio State Ball Rising Star Latin Champion in 2005. Her big break came when she was cast on ABC's Dancing with the Stars in its second season, partnering with Drew Lachey, winning the competition. She also won the third season with former NFL player Emmitt Smith.

Burke continued her success on the show with partners such as Ian Ziering, Wayne Newton, Christian de la Fuente, Maurice Green, Gilles Marini, and Tom DeLay. She achieved notable placements, often finishing in the top tier, including second place with Rob Kardashian in season 13 and third place with William Levy in season 14.

In the All-Star season (season 15), Burke reunited with Emmitt Smith. She later partnered with D.L. Hughley, Jack Osbourne (who inspired Burke with his battle with multiple sclerosis), Drew Carey, and Antonio Sabato Jr. After briefly leaving the show, she returned in season 23 with Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte. She took another hiatus before partnering with Juan Pablo Di Pace, a season 27 favorite with five perfect scores, only to be eliminated in the semi-finals.

Season 28 saw her with Ray Lewis, whose season was cut short by injury. Burke then danced with AJ McLean in season 29 and Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby in season 30.

Other Projects

Outside Dancing with the Stars, Burke guest-starred on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and featured on the reality show I Can Do That. In 2017, she replaced Abby Lee Miller on Dance Moms. Additionally, Burke has appeared in commercials for brands such as Sargento Cheese, Depend Silhouette briefs, and Impress nails. Her efforts helped raise over $50,000 for Dress for Success.

Personal Life

She later dated actor Matthew Lawrence, who proposed to her on her 34th birthday in 2018. They married in May 2019 in San Diego, California.
