Early Life

Born Cameron Ezike Giles on February 4, 1976, in East Harlem, New York, Cam'ron was raised by his mother, Fredericka Giles. Despite being a promising basketball player, Cam'ron couldn't secure scholarships due to poor academic performance.

Cam'ron briefly attended a Texas college but dropped out and returned to Harlem, turning to drug dealing and music writing. He eventually crossed paths with The Notorious B.I.G., who introduced him to music executive Lance Rivera, leading to a contract with Untertainment.

Career

Cam'ron launched his debut album "Confessions of Fire" in July 1998. The Gold-certified album broke into both pop and R&B charts. In 2000, he released "Sports Drugs & Entertainment" under Sony/Epic Records. The album soared to number two on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and number 14 on Billboard 200.
