Early Life
Born as Axel Christofer Hedfors on December 18, 1977, in Lund, Sweden, Axwell showed a deep interest in music from a young age. He taught himself the drums at nine and began producing music by thirteen. He initially released acid techno tracks under the moniker Quazar using FastTracker 2 and NoiseTracker.
Producing Career
Axwell started his career with remixes, releasing his first official remix in 2000. Early notable works include remixes of Usher's "Burn," NERD's "Maybe," and Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous." In 2002, he produced "So Right" for Jetlag and released "Lead Guitar" under his name. He formed the duo Mambana with Isabel Fructuose, releasing three tracks including their hit single "No Reason."
In 2003, he released "Wait a Minute" under Starbeach, becoming a club hit. In 2004, Axwell's "Feel the Vibe" became an anthem, peaking at number one on the UK Dance Singles Chart with Tara McDonald's vocals. He continued remixing tracks and collaborated with Sebastian Ingrosso on "Dark Side of the Moon," and launched his record label, Axtone, during this period.
In 2006, he worked with Steve Angello as Supermode, releasing "Tell Me Why," and collaborated with Eric Prydz. Axwell's popularity surged, placing him in DJ Mag's top 100 DJs list, where he advanced from the 93rd to the 33rd position within a year.

They released "Get Dumb" as individuals and later released hits like "One" and "Miami 2 Ibiza" under the group's name, featured on their debut album "Until One" in 2010.
Axwell also released his compilation album "Axtone Vol. 1" in 2010, reaching 10th place in DJ Mag's poll. He earned a Grammy nomination for his remix of The Temper Trap's "Sweet Disposition."
